It is humorous to read the intro chapter, where Dr. Nobel talks about learning and our willingness, not ability, to learn and understand what the electrical industry is about. The same most likely counts for every individual company situation regardless of the industry affiliation. With statements like: “Oh we had that at school, I was not really good in this type of sciences and not really interested” and a reply by Dr. Nobel of: “Either learn quick now or you will not be part of the team! Why do you think you can be good in the electrical industry without knowledge and skills? If you had to choose a sport you weren’t good at, would you think you would be able to earn a living? Those are statement of awakening and calling for what it needs to be customer oriented and successful. Don’t we all know how it feels to call a vendor where people have a million excuses why they do not know or cannot help us? In those Chapters, Dr. Nobel and quoting him direct states: “Knowledge management and adult education are key challenges in our today’s world. There are many reasons to procrastinate in the means of no more adding knowledge to the portfolio of the individual and that is where NOBEL™ Corporations make a difference”. Isn’t this an interesting statement where today, even though the unemployment rate goes up, basically only software companies expect the people they employ to learn and bring a lot of new knowledge? Just some food for thought.
